The walk up to the base of Clogwyn Ddu was our initial challenge. We then climbed Pillar Chimney Variation in less than favourable conditions. There was not much ice formation in the Chimney itself, which was unfortunate on the day. I must admit that this was one of the tougher days out, but good fun all the same. Then, in blizzard conditions, we had to break trail when descending back into Ogwen valley, as the snowfall during the day had covered our initial trail.
