The Winter Prayer

Our season, which art in winter
hallowed be thy ice:
thy snowfall come:
thy gullies done,
in Wales as it is in Scotland.
Give us this route our daily climb.
And forgive us our alpine starts,
as we forgive those who get on route before us.
And lead us not over cornices;
but deliver us to the pub.

For thine is the icefall,
the buttress, and the gully,
for winter and winter.

Amen.
